Our 3 day course gives you some intense tuition allowing you to make good progress. You will be assigned one of our BGA qualified instructors who will discuss what you would like to achieve during the three days and work with you towards it.

This 3 day course includes a dedicated tuition aircraft and instructor. You will spend your time with a BGA qualified instructor and use the winch or aerotow to launch into the sky. These busy days consist of briefings and flying instruction covering all areas of gliding, such as the effects of controls, gliding exercises and airfield safety. Along with the flying you will also have experienced what it feels like to be part of the BGC team. This is an excellent choice for those wishing to kick-start a gliding career from new, or make a swift return from time away.

Once you have completed your course we also offer a 25% discount on your first year of membership with us! The office can give you all the details that you need.

The total price for this course is £400 for adults, £350 for 18-25 year olds and £300 for under 18s. You will need to pay the remaining balance at least two weeks before the start of your course.

Once you have paid the deposit you can book in the course dates you would like with our office. You will need to pay the remaining balance at least two weeks before the start of your course. You will also be sent a copy of 'Passenger to Pilot', a BGA Flight Log Book and a BGC Training card to record your training flights and success.

Please note:

There are no age limits on being a passenger in a glider. However you must be between 5ft (152cm) and 6ft 5 (195cm) and under 16 stone (100kg) with the minimum weight being 6.5 stone (40kg).
You must be capable of climbing into the glider and not suffer from any illness likely to cause a sudden change in your condition (such as epilepsy). Please call the office should you have any concerns or special requirements.
